
Apostle Tonya Y. Harrison, a native Washingtonian and the eighth child of her mother, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of eight at John S. Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Washington, DC. She was later filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered with a passion for studying and teaching the Word of God. Gifted with the ability to articulate Scripture with clarity and simplicity, she ministers effectively to both the young and the mature. Apostle Harrison is a devoted evangelist who loves sharing the gospel with the saved and the unsaved.
Apostle Harrison’s biblical and ministerial training is extensive. She attended The School of the Prophet in Waldorf, Maryland; earned a Ministerial Training Certification through Breakthrough Bible College; completed courses in Hermeneutics, Homiletics, and other theological studies at Gateway School of Theology; and received a Teaching Certification from Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She also served as a lieutenant in the Spiritual Warfare Ministry and completed numerous religious courses over the years. In addition to her ministry preparation, Apostle Harrison holds a degree in Business Administration, completed “The New Leaders Program” for emerging federal leaders, and serves as a Human Resources Consultant for the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, DC. She holds three Honorary Doctorates Doctorate in Theology from CICA University and Doctorate Theology and Doctorate of Philosophy with Trinity International University of Ambassadors in Atlanta Georgia.
With more than 25 years of dedicated service, Apostle Harrison has held multiple leadership roles, including Treasurer, Administrator, Pastor of Membership Ministry for six years, Adjutant to the Bishop for eleven years, and President of Pastoral Care and Overseer of the ministerial staff for eight years. She was licensed and ordained as an Evangelist in May 2003, ordained as an Elder/Pastor in December 2006, and installed as Pastor of New Hope Deliverance and Praise Ministry in July 2012. In March 2014, she was ordained and consecrated as an Apostle by Survivors Global Ministry.
Apostle Harrison is the President and CEO of ReachOut Services, LLC in Hagerstown, Maryland, specializing in executive and administrative support services for the Body of Christ. She is also the Founder of Breakthrough Conferences, established in 2006, which provides conferences, biblical workshops, training, and edification for believers. Additionally, she is the Co‑Founder of The Outlet House, a youth program designed to address the challenges facing today’s young people.
Her ministry influence extends to media as well. Apostle Harrison has been a featured guest on several radio broadcasts, including Straight to the Point on Blog Talk Radio, Matters of the Heart, and she hosted her own show, Fireside Chat, on the DMV Powered Gospel Radio Network.
Her civic involvement includes serving on the Town of Brentwood Community Events Committee, facilitating the “Keeping It Real” Youth Program, and working as Campaign Manager for the Mayor and Councilmembers of Brentwood. She later served as a Councilmember and Vice Mayor of the town.
Apostle Harrison is a woman who loves the Lord deeply and stands boldly on the battlefield, defending her faith in Jesus Christ. She is a powerful exhorter who brings edification to the Body of Christ by sharing the hope that resides within her.
The Lord called Apostle Harrison to birth New Hope Deliverance and Praise Ministry to bring hope to the hopeless through empowerment conferences and the teaching of God’s Word. On July 1, 2012, the Lord instructed her to plant a local church in Prince George’s County, Maryland, to continue the mandate of winning souls for Christ. Apostle Harrison’s foundational scripture is Ephesians 4:11–12: “And he gave some, Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some, Evangelists; and some, Pastors; and some, Teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
