Mary In A Martha's World

Jesus had just been welcomed in the home of Martha. Martha and Mary the sisters
of Lazarus the one whom Jesus raised from the dead. Once inside the home Martha
became to busy with much serving that she felled to recognized that Jesus was in
the house. We can become so busy doing much good that we would miss out on
communing with God. There comes a time when we must be hands off and heart
on, or else will be caring for everyone and everything except for caring and
nurturing our relationship with God. Mary sat of the feet of the Jesus and listened.
Mary choose the God part or the good part... Mary chose to lay at the feet of the
Lord. Martha approached Jesus and said “Lord don’t you care that my sister has
left me to serve alone. Yes, He cares about all of our feelings but we have to be
careful what part we being consumed with God or a form of Godliness but denying
the power there of. Mary chose the God part. Martha assumed Jesus cared about
her serving but He was more interested in the fact that Mary chose to sit at His
feet. Yes, Jesus does care how Martha was feeling but Martha failed to realized
everything she needed was right there in the house with her. Everything you and I
need has been right there all the time. We just need to chose to sit down and bask
in His presence.

Martha allowed her eyes to move from looking at the man in the mirror to looking
out window and judging the actions of others… Jesus said Martha Martha Martha
you are cumbered about many things or Martha you getting mad over to many
small things, the problem is not Mary but its YOU.

To sum up the message during this Easter holiday let us choose the God part and sit
at the feet of our Lord and Savior. Mary chose the God part or the good portion.
Better decisions better life. What do you choose to hear? Well done or I never
knew you, depart from me you who practice lawlessness. Jesus is the better
portion. Don’t miss it; duty is good but devotion is better. Serving is good but
sitting and listening to Jesus is better. Serving is apart of our obedience to Christ
but sitting and listening to Jesus provides spiritual nourishment that comes from us
consuming and eating the word of God’s words.
